2015 Pinery Bushfires
Donations of fabrics and quilting accessories will be donated to those affected by the devastating bushfires.
5000 Poppies - continues into 2016
This very successful project will be travelling to the Chelsea Garden Show.
Community Quilts - ongoing
Community quilts are an ongoing project, involving members of the Gawler Quilting Circle who generously donate their time and energy to making quilts which are then donated to various charities. Photographs of quilts can be viewed in the Photo Gallery.
Wildlife Pouches - January, 2015
Members are making animal pouches to hold small animals that have been left abandoned by their mothers. The demand for pouches has increased due to the recent Adelaide bushfires. While a supply has already been donated to the Salisbury unit, more are always welcome.
A community quilt has also been donated to the Salisbury branch as a raffle prize to raise money for a person who lost their home in the Adelaide bushfires.
5000 Poppies - February, 2015
Volunteers are keenly knitting or crocheting poppies to donate to the 5000 Poppies as a tribute to the war heroes. Kornacraft, Gawler is the collection point until 28 February, 2015. The poppies will then be sent to Melbourne where they will form part of a national exhibition which will travel Australia until 2018. Some of the 550 poppies donated will be kept in Gawler to make a wreath which will be presented at the ANZAC service.
Uplift Nurses Bags - October, 2014
Sixty bags have been made by the members and sent to the 'Patchwork and Stitching' magazine where they will be distributed to overseas countries in need. Thank you to all those who generously contributed to this project.
